Key responsibilities:
- Generate 3D CAD models, detailed and assembly drawings of new and existing design concepts using SolidWorks.
- Work closely with the engineering and product development teams to translate concepts and ideas into precise technical drawings.
- Perform dimensioning and tolerance analysis/evaluations of component and assembly drawings.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including parts lists, prototype assemblies, prototype build instructions, presentations (pictures and/or video) and patent drawings.
- Ensure all designs comply with engineering standards and manufacturing capabilities.
What we are looking for:
- Associate degree or certification in Mechanical design/drafting required.
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in CAD drafting, a plus on medical device environment.
- Certified and proficiency in SolidWorks 2016 or latest versions is essential.
- Strong background in catheter design and exposure to various manufacturing injection molding techniques is a plus.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in CAD work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards.
- Demonstrated capability using engineering measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Knowledge in variety of machining/manufacturing process and designing for manufacturability (i.e. plastic molding, extrusions, CNC machining, Laser machining, Laser welding).
- Knowledge of Medical device Document Control preferred.
